Smith: PENNVEST Awards More Than $267 Million for Water, Sewer Projects in Pennsylvania
July 15, 2026
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Brian Smith (R-Jefferson/Indiana), the House Republican appointee to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) board, announced the investment of $267.29 million into 21 drinking water and wastewater projects throughout the Commonwealth.
Projects include a new PFAS treatment building in Cumberland County, a new water pump station in Susquehanna County and a new 300,000-gallon water storage tank in Blair County.
“This investment represents an important commitment to safeguarding public health, strengthening our communities and ensuring that residents have reliable access to clean, safe water,” Smith said. “By supporting these essential upgrades, PENNVEST is helping local systems address aging infrastructure, improve environmental resilience, and prepare for future growth. This is a meaningful step forward for the well-being and sustainability of our Commonwealth.”
“These projects financed by PENNVEST benefit public health and the environment and support sustainable communities as we advance our shared goal of clean water, safe environment and prosperous communities for our families to enjoy, both now and for future generations,” said Executive Director Robert Boos.
PENNVEST, established in 1988, funds the design and construction of drinking water, wastewater and storm water projects across Pennsylvania.
