Smith: PENNVEST Awards $242.8 Million for Drinking Water, Wastewater Projects Across Commonwealth

April 23, 2025

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Brian Smith (R-Jefferson/Indiana), the House Republican appointee to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) board, announced the investment of $242.8 million into 32 drinking water and wastewater projects across 23 counties throughout the Commonwealth.

Projects include funding for a new drinking water treatment building in Clearfield County, a flood mitigation project in Cambria County and extensive sewer pipe replacement projects in Bucks and Somerset counties.

“Our water infrastructure is so important, and the only way to ensure it sticks to the high standards we have for it is continued investment,” Smith said. “These funds help ensure our water quality remains high, making our most basic needs as dependable as can be.”

“These projects financed by PENNVEST benefit public health and the environment and support sustainable communities as we advance our shared goal of clean water, safe environment and prosperous communities for our families to enjoy, both now and for future generations,” said Executive Director Robert Boos.
PENNVEST, established in 1988, funds the design and construction of drinking water, wastewater, and storm water projects across Pennsylvania.
