Dush, Smith Announces $300,000 for Transportation Project in Jefferson County
February 24, 2025
HARRISBURG – Sen. Cris Dush (R-25) and State Rep. Brian Smith (R-66) announced today that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has awarded $300,000 for a repaving project in Jefferson County.
Reynoldsville Borough has been awarded a grant to repave multiple local streets that are in poor condition.
“While not as many cars may travel our rural roads as those in the cities, I would argue they’re even more important,” Smith said. “Many of us live several miles away from the nearest grocery store, school or hospital, so we need those roads to be in good shape. This funding is going to help make sure our communities can stay connected, both literally and figuratively.”
“Maintenance of our rural roads is very challenging for local governments with limited resources,” said Dush. “I am pleased that Reynoldsville Borough is receiving this much-needed assistance to improve and repave multiple local streets that are in desperate need of attention. This is a wise, far-reaching investment in our infrastructure that will have a positive public safety impact for residents, motorists, and pedestrians.”
The grant was awarded through the Multimodal Transportation Fund, which encourages economic development and ensures a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to residents of the Commonwealth.
