Smith Announces $339,000 for Fire, EMS Companies in 66th District

February 12, 2025

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Brian Smith (R-Jefferson/Indiana) announced today that fire and ambulance companies in the 66th Legislative District will collectively receive more than $339,000 in state grants to support their public safety mission.

“We depend so heavily on our firefighters and emergency services workers to keep ourselves and our property safe in emergencies,” Smith said. “But they can’t do their jobs without the proper funding. I’m glad we were able to secure these grants, and we’ll keep working to make sure our fire and ambulance companies have what they need.”

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature which is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.
